Enhance Your Smile with Dental Veneers in North Edmonton
Reasons to Get Dental Veneers in North Edmonton
Here at Oxford Dental, we’re equipped to provide the dental veneers Edmonton favors when front teeth are chipped, broken, too short, or perhaps discolored. These problems can be caused by aging, taking certain medications, and accidents during sports. Rather than hiding your smile because of a broken tooth, you can fix your problem with veneers. Some people are naturally born with gaps in their teeth, but for others, gaps form over time. Veneers are the perfect solution for those with gaps between their teeth as well. If you’ve had braces but your tooth alignment is still crooked, veneers can also fix minor misalignment problems.
No matter what your reason for wanting veneers is, our dentists will create veneers that match the shape, size, and color of your other teeth for a completely natural look.
Veneer Application Process
The first step is a consultation with your Oxford Dental dentist to determine if veneers are a good fit for you. Your dentist will take X-rays and make dental impressions as needed. After it’s been determined that you’re a good veneer candidate, we will remove a small bit of enamel from the surface of the teeth to be covered (about the same thickness of the veneer that will replace it). Next, we’ll make an impression of the tooth or teeth, and we’ll send you home with temporary veneers. A week or two later, your new veneers will arrive from the laboratory!
Next is the 15-minute “bonding” process, during which your dentist will trim the veneer as needed for a perfect fit. At this point, we’ll roughen the surface of your tooth or teeth so the veneer will bond well, and we will apply the veneer with dental cement. A special light beam in our office will cure the cement, resulting in a Hollywood brilliant smile.
